"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity
has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in
awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life,
of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one
tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every
day. Never lose a holy curiosity." - Albert Einstein

About Me
My name is Helen Harlan. I am an M.A.T. student at Tufts University and am interning at TechBoston Academy in Dorchester, MA. Additionally, I hold a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
At MIT, I discovered that I really enjoyed interacting with people. I want to know what excites them, what their passions are, and why they approach situations differently. This passion, along with my interest in engineering, initially landed me in product design and research where I was creating and leading consumer surveys and interviews to learn about peoples' needs. After a few years working in industry however, my passion in people inspired me to look for new opportunities where I would engage with today's youth. Last January, I decided to switch careers to become a teacher.
My time at TechBoston Academy has been an exciting growing experience. I have really enjoyed working with the diverse student body and figuring out how to best help each student excel. I am teaching two 9th grade, full-inclusion, Physics classes, co-teaching one other, and helping in the SEI cluster classes.
